Connecting Android MQTT Dashboard to Zibawa


Easy to test Control devices from Android Read status of IoT devices or sensors from Android


Install MQTT Dashboard (its free) on your android device. There are many MQTT applications available on playstore, and Zibawa should be compatible with any MQTT device, but the one we are using is called IoT MQTT Dashboard, published by Nghia Th Link to playstore MQTT dashboard

Connection Parameters

Once installed, you are taken to a screen where you can configure your connection:

  • Client ID: (a name of your choice ej. myClient)
  • Server:
  • Port: 1883
  • UserName: MQTT user name you were given when you set up your account
  • Password: Password you were given when setup your account
  • SSL : Leave Blank
  • BKS file : Leave Blank

If your credentials are accepted, you will see “connected”.

Once connected, press save to save the connection.

Publish Data

Now press on the connection you just created, and go to “publish”

Press + to create a new publisher

Choose component type = text

Publish using the topic format topic accountID.deviceID.channelID.messageFormat

  • accountID - (you can see this at the top of the menu when you log in to zibawa)
  • device ID and channel ID - will be those that you created when you created your device in zibawa
  • messageFormat - a number of formats can be used, but for the time being we will use format 1.
